Statistically Speaking
Statistically speaking, I read somewhere that more than 60% of teen marriages end in divorce.
Jeremy and I were 18 and 16 when we got married. We had a lot of nay sayers at the beginning. People would say that our marriage would not last 5 years or so. Looking back, I wonder if any of those people where taking bets on how long we would last.
Jeremy and I started dating on Dec. 22,1994. About a few months into dating, we realized that we wanted to be with one another forever. Our plans were for him to go to college and me graduate high school. Then, we will get married. So in April 1995, we found out we were pregnant. Man I was scared. Jeremy was so strong. We knew we loved each other. We knew we wanting to be together. But our plans, got all jacked up. LOL! So on May 20th, 1995, in front of our family and friends, we said ‘I do‘; one day after he graduated high school.
The first 15 years we have seen our ups and downs. But we learn to work through the downs. I love my husband so much. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Let me say, that marriage isn’t a joke. It isn’t a fairy tale. You both have to work for that happy marriage. You both should be there for one another. Be each others friend. Take time out for just the two of you. Most and importantly be trustworthy and honest.
Here’s to many more anniversaries babe!
I love you!
