steak marinade

I made some steak marinade last night. I thawed out my steak first and then in a gallon size ziploc bag I added 1 cup of soy sauce, 2 tsp. of honey, 2 tsp of mesquite steak flavoring, 2 tsp of greek seasoning, 1/4 cup of A-1 steak sauce, 1/4 cup of Cattlemen’s Honey bbq sauce. I closed the ziploc bag and  shake the bag til the mixture is all mixed then I placed my steaks in there and let them marinate overnight.  Placed them on the grill and I gotta say it was such a good steak. Yummy!  I love concocting  my own recipes.

Horse back riding and Memorial Day Weekend.

Memorial Day weekend has been a blast so far. Friday Jeremy took off and we ran some errands. Got our registration renewed on our vehicle, went to Costco and walked around and then we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and ate.

Saturday, we just chilled out around the house and about 7ish we went to the pool and watch the kids swim.  I wished I had my camera. Emmalee was jumping in the 8ft part of the pool.  Yes she had floaties on. But it was still so cool to watch her. Some of the people there were really amazed that she would just jump like that in the deep end of the pool.

Sunday, we got up and cooked breakfast. Then we got ready to go horse back riding at one of Jeremy’s co-worker’s house. The horse’s name was Valentine. He was a very gentle horse.  The girls really enjoyed it and had fun.

Monday, which is tomorrow, we are going to grill out. I plan on grilling some steak and hamburgers. I might decide to take the girls to the pool if they are nice to me. LOL!!!

So looks like it has been and will be a good Memorial Day weekend.

Please remember our fallen soldiers and all of the soldiers who are still on the front lines serving our country.

Statistically Speaking

Statistically speaking, I read somewhere that more than 60% of teen marriages end in divorce.

Jeremy and I were 18 and 16 when we got married.  We had a lot of nay sayers at the beginning. People would say that our marriage would not last 5 years or so. Looking back, I wonder if any of those people where taking bets on how long we would last.

Jeremy and I started dating on Dec. 22,1994. About a few months into dating, we realized that we wanted to be with one another forever. Our plans were for him to go to college and me graduate high school.  Then, we will get married.  So in April 1995, we found out we were pregnant. Man I was scared. Jeremy was so strong.  We knew we loved each other. We knew we wanting to be together. But our plans, got all jacked up. LOL!  So on May 20th, 1995, in front of our family and friends, we said ‘I do‘; one day after he graduated high school.

The first 15 years we have seen our ups and downs. But we learn to work through the downs. I love my husband so much. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Let me say, that marriage isn’t a joke. It isn’t a fairy tale. You both have to work for that happy marriage. You both should be there for one another. Be each others friend. Take time out for just the two of you. Most and importantly be trustworthy and honest.

Here’s to many more anniversaries babe!

I love you!

‘REALLY’

Emmy tells me she is ‘really’ hungry, so I feed her. A few moments go by she says i am ‘really’ hungry so i fixed her a waffle. She says to me i am ‘really’ thirsty. so I said get a drink of my coffee. She replies its ‘really’ heavy. My reply by now is your ‘really driving me crazy today.

So after the little scenario happened, it got me to thinking…

I am so thankful that my kids are human and they know when they are hungry or thirsty. I am really thankful that they don’t have to experience going to bed hungry or thirsty. They don’t have to experience ‘really’ being hungry, ‘really’ being thirsty. All of their needs are met.

God ‘REALLY’ supplies all of our needs from day to day.

Lessons from a 4 year old.
