WOW…. what a beautiful day!

So here I sit, it is 7:19am in the morning. Coffee is brewing. I am relaxing and watching the news… oh and enjoying the peace and quiet for a change. It is going to be a beautiful day. Can’t wait for the SHIFT service tonight at church. Gonna have a good time in the Lord. God is great! Just knowing that He is everywhere and He is always with us. He takes care of us. It is just a great day to be alive.

More ramblings….
Yesterday was my birthday… yup…. I was and still is excited. I think that our birthday should be celebrated every year of your birthday = to a 1 day. So if I say that, I am 31 then we ought to celebrate 31 one days of birthday. I know kind of silly though. But I like birthdays, I just like celebrating period. So I shall celebrate life.

LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Weeds

Well spring has arrived and the weeds are growing. I have noticed that when you pull out the weeds that by the next day they have shriveled and dried up. Same thing with our lives… when God shows us the weeds that are growing in our lives, we need to immediately and pluck them out and watch them dry up and shrivel.

My Life…

As the rose blossoms before You,

may my life blossom for You.

As the rapid rivers dance before You,

may my life, soul, and spirit dance before You.

How I love to be in Your presence.

Help me to not drive Your presence away.

For in Your presence my life becomes

the rose that blossoms;

that rapid river that dances.

well it’s the last day of Spring Break…

So it’s spring break. Well this is the last day in spring break. This week I don’t think I got to accomplish any cleaning that I wanted to. Earlier in the week, I pulled a back muscle scrubbing the girls’ toilet. But we did get like 6 bags of clothes together to give to Goodwill this weekend. So that is a good thing.

On another note, in about 11 days it will be my birthday. I have no idea what I want for my birthday.

I did some spring cleaning on my facebook page. I deleted alot of friends and I deleted a couple of Aps that I felt I shouldn’t be playing anymore.  I deleted Mafia Wars and Vampire Wars.  So FB friends, sorry I am no longer playing those two games. I will stick with Yoville and Farmville. I gotta say my page isn’t cluttered with news feeds.

well I did it

I posted on here Monday that I haven’t had a soda in a month now and I won’t be drinking them anymore. Well I feel horrible, I had a soda tonight. I feel really bad about it. I won’t let it get me down though. I shall get back up dust my knees and get back on the band wagon.  I still say sodas are bad for you. Tomorrow is a new day.

Feeling bad now,

Amanda

So here we are now what…

For about a month I have been drinking water…. I have Xed out the Sodas. I will drink an occasional glass of ice tea every now and then. I am hoping that I can get rid of some of this weight by doing this. My husband has jumped on the bandwagon with me. Which is surprising within itself, because for as long as I have know him he has been a dedicated and loyal to dr. pepper. I am glad. We preach to our kids on how sodas are bad for us. But we kept on drinking them. So we decided that it was time to practice what we preached.  I am proud of him, I think he has been without a dr. pepper for a least 3 weeks that I know of.

So I did a little research on the dangers of drinking sodas.

1. Sugar is one of the leading causes of obesity. There is more sugar in a can of soda than a cookie alone.

2. You become caffeine dependent. Caffeine is addictive. Your body starts craving the boost you get from caffeine. If your body doesn’t get that boost then you become irritable, tired, and even depressed.

3. The phosphoric acid, this gives soda that extra bite, causes bone loss.

4. They have found traces of MSG, a neurotoxin, in citric acid that some sodas have in it.

5. The water found in a can of soda has had carbon dioxide injected into it, which gives you carbonated water. This water may contain fluoride and other contaminants.

After knowing some of these things, Our family is saying NO to sodas.

SAY NO TO SODAS!!!
