encouraging to know….

Do you feel that God isn’t there in the dry seasons of life? I do sometimes, well pretty much all the time.  I am glad that we are not governed by our feelings.

But if we believe what Hebrews 13: 5, Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

The last part is very vital to our well being, …. for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So no matter what season we are in life, God is there and He is always there.

what's more important?

Matthew 6:33 says,  But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. It goes on to say in verse 34, So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. These scriptures come from the amplified version.

Is seeking God first the most important thing in your life? or is it the things of this world?  or it could be wondering what tomorrow will hold for your life?

When you seek Him first everything in your life will fall into place.  Things just complicate things in your life. When there are things in your life, they clutter your live not giving God any room to live and grow in your life. Live a simple life. Don’t try to strive to have the best of the best of things… it might be nice to have… but all in all it doesn’t feel the void in your life… only God can feel that void.

Seek Him first!

Delight..

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

We must first delight ourselves in the Lord and then He will give you the desires of your heart.  The longer we delight in Him, the more our desires become His desires. Not what we want in our lives, but what God wants in our lives.

I thought this was cool… many times I have heard this scripture… but it really never dawned on me that this is what He wants— here is the scripture —For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’”. Jeremiah 29:11.

Isn’t it awesome how God has plans for your life. He doesn’t want to see us suffer here on this earth. He wants us to take delight in Him. Like I said before, when we take delight in Him we shall have the desires that our in our hearts.

Keep delighting in Him….

God knows everything…

1 John 3:18-20- (vs. 18.) Dear children, let us just stop saying we love each  other; let us really show it by our actions. (vs 19.) It is by our actions that we know we are living in the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before the Lord, (vs 20.) even if our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything.

Just don’t say that you love one another, actions speak louder than words. How do we escape gnawing accusations of our consciences? It is not by ignoring them or rationalizing our behavior but by setting our heart on God’s love. When we begin to feel guilty, remember that God knows our motives as well as our actions. His voice is stronger than the voice of our conscience.  So if we are living for the Lord but feel like your not good enough, remind yourself that God is greater than your conscience.

In Him there is no darkness at all…

1 John 1:5-7-
vs 5-This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.

vs 6- If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.

vs 7-But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I have to confess that in the past I did not want to fellowship with other believers, maybe it was I at that point in my walk that my walk wasn’t in the light. My walk was of its own. I wanted to do what I wanted to do. Forgetting what God had wanted me to do.

I say this, now that I am knowing Him more.  I realize how important it is to fellowship with other believers. We should walk in the Light. We should walk the walk. Letting God shine His light in us and shining His light in the darkest of places in our hearts then we shall be purified from all sin. Where there is light, there is no darkness.

Who is for us?

Romans 8:31- What can we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

- Knowing that God is for us, nothing else should matter. Yes it is true that, the devil is against us. But with God on our side, nothing can separate us from Him.

Hebrews 13:6- That is why we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals to me?”

God is for us, He is our helper. Don’t be afraid.

Consume me…

Hebrews 12:29- For our God is a consuming fire.

Let God come in and consume your life from the inside out. Nothing else should matter. When we are consumed in God, I mean totally consumed in God. All we could want is Him to come in to take our hearts, our, minds, and our souls.

Consume(d),(s),(ing)- to destroy (as by fire); to waste or burn away.

To be able to have a pure heart, we should be consumed by Him from the inside out. Yeah I admit it will hurt to see all of our old habits and self burn away. But in order to have a pure heart, the impurities need to be consumed up. My prayer today is I don’t care what others thing, nothing else matters, Consume me Lord from the inside out. I give all my self to you. Yes it may be broken… but Lord I know you can take it and consume the impurities and my heart will be pure in Your eyes.

Psalms 19:12-14

12. How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.
13. Keep me from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and
innocent of great sin.
14. May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to You, O Lord, my Rock and my redeemer. (NLT)

We don’t know the sins lurking in our hearts and thoughts. Since we don’t know these sins or hidden faults we should still ask God to reveal them to us and forgive us of them. Don’t let them control me.

My prayer today is Lord take control, take my body, mind and soul. Put a finger on anything that doesn’t please you, and anything that grieves you. Take control!
Knowing the impurities of our lives and confessing them to God will not only draw us closer to Him but it will also help us have unanswered prayers to be answered.

I got a feeling!!

Well 2009 has come and gone! Alot has happened in 2009 in my life personally. I have fought depression in 2009. Jeremy and mine’s marriage has grown in the past year. I love him more today than ever. I am sure he feels the same about me. I believe our marriage has grown stronger in fact. What should we expect in 2010? I am not sure. But I know deep down in my being that 2010 will be better than 2009. I don’t know why I have this feeling but I do. Life is good! Love is awesome! The girls are getting older… in fact we are getting older. It will be a good year! Just got to remember WHO we need to put first. GOD, FAMILY, and everything else will fall into its place. Last year I was taught that family is very important in life. Like I said before I expect good things to happen in this new year.
